Company Profile
Woody opened his business back in 1956 and moved to the present location at 501 S. Main Creve Coeur in 1959, where he operated temporarily from a small trailer. Our building was constructed in 1960 and many improvements have taken place since. For instance, we’ve tripled the original office space and increased and reconfigured the shop area. Also, our inventory has grown steadily more diverse since 1956. We now carry SUV’s, luxury sedans, sports sedans, family cars, economy cars, pickups of all sizes, and the occasional roadster. While the cars and the competition have grown steadily more complex since we’ve opened for business, Woody’s has both survived and grown.
Our clientele is as varied as Central Illinois itself, including white collar, blue collar, no collar, entrepreneurs, retirees, and students. Many of our customers are quite loyal, with three generations of some families purchasing cars from us. One family has had four generations of repeat customers. We’ve located cars for Cat executives returning from Brazil and Europe and we once sold a car to a local law enforcement department to serve as a surveillance vehicle.
